Torrey Meeks is a writer, videomaker, and animator.
He joined the US Army as a combat medic two days out of high school, and served with the 1/9 Infantry Battalion in South Korea.
He started freelance writing for trade publications and taught himself video production on his return to the civilian world.
In 2007 he remixed Bill O'Reilly's vintage meltdown on Inside Edition to a dance beat by Revolucian. The video went viral and was nominated for Best Viral Video of 2008 by the Webby Awards.
After O'Reilly, a 3-minute report he created for the YouTube and Pulitzer Center Project: Report challenge was nominated as a Round 1 top ten semi-finalist.
His videos have received more than 4 million views, and his work has been highlighted in Wired Magazine, The New York Observer and Rolling Stone.
He is currently working on a novel based on his service in South Korea.
He lives in New Mexico with his wife and a cat.
